AEW star sidelined for nearly 7 months shares return update

A certain AEW star has shed light on their long absence from the promotion and the reason behind this despite being healthy. This would be Zak Knight, Saraya's (FKA Paige) brother.

Earlier this year, he joined the company as one of its latest signings. He aligned himself with The Outcasts alongside his sister and Harley Cameron. At the time, they were feuding with Ruby Soho and Angelo Parker. However, this storyline did not progress due to Ruby's pregnancy, as she and Parker also took some time off.

His last match on the promotion was back in April. Zak briefly appeared at All In, accompanied by Saraya, when she hijacked the show for her Wembley moment.

On X, Zak Knight clarified his current status and why he hasn't been in AEW for some time. He mentioned how he returned to the UK in June and has taken time off for personal and health reasons. He revealed that he has been ready for action since August but has been waiting for his time to shine on the promotion.

"Just to clarify some things! I came home June & needed a lil time off due to personal/health reasons. I’ve been fit, clear & ready to go since August. AEW has a stacked & very talented roster!! I’ll remain patient and wait for my next opportunity! Let’s be avin ya 🔥👊🏼," Knight wrote.

The AEW star revealed his son pushed him not to retire from wrestling

Earlier this year, Zak Knight revealed that he once considered ending his wrestling career, but his son's wise words kept him going.

Back in March, he took to X to wish his son a happy birthday. He then mentioned how a few years ago, the youngster spoke to him about not giving up just yet, and he has since used this as his motivation to get through tough times.

"Happy birthday Kayden! 11 today! A few years ago I was thinking of retiring from wrestling and you at 7 years old sat me down and said, 'Daddy, don't give up! It's not if, it's when!' That moment carries me through the doubts and hard times. You're special, never change [red heart emoji]," Zak wrote.

Right now, Saraya and her brother remain off-screen. When the siblings will reunite with Harley Cameron and what their possible next course of action will be in AEW remains to be seen.
