AEW star still wants to work with Bryan Danielson after describing him as the 'hardest hitter' in the ring

An AEW star wishes to work with Bryan Danielson, formerly known as Daniel Bryan, despite characterizing him as a hard-hitting wrestler. The star being discussed is Kyle O'Reilly.

The 37-year-old star was absent from in-ring action for over 21 months, before returning at the AEW Revolution 2024 Pay-Per-View. Since coming back, he has picked up multiple victories. Moreover, Kyle will face Roderick Strong for the International Championship at the upcoming Dynasty Pay-Per-View.

On the other hand, The American Dragon is in the last stage of his full-time in-ring career. Bryan has been facing tough opponents in the Jacksonville-based company and is prominent for his technical and strong style of wrestling. Kyle and Danielson had faced each other in ROH, but never in AEW.

While speaking with Fightful Select, Kyle mentioned Bryan as the star he would like to face in AEW. The 37-year-old star also described The American Dragon as the "hardest hitter" because the latter once hit him with a brutal spinning-back tiger kick during their ROH tag team match in 2006.

What the future has in store for O'Reilly in the Jacksonville-based promotion remains to be seen.

Kyle O'Reilly revealed Bryan Danielson inspired him to join ROH

While talking on the Busted Open Radio podcast, Kyle O'Reilly spoke highly of Bryan Danielson and said the latter was one of the main reasons why he joined Ring of Honor (ROH).

"A guy who I've wanted to wrestle my entire career is Bryan Danielson. I broke in '05 [started wrestling career], and he was at that time, having this epic run with ROH title, and he inspired me to want to make it to ROH, and he was going over to Japan and making a living there. So that inspired me to wanna follow that path," Kyle O'Reilly said.

It remains to be seen if Kyle O'Reilly will win the AEW International Championship against Roderick Strong at the upcoming Dynasty Pay-Per-View.
