AEW star stops Jack Perry from clobbering Bryan Danielson with a steel chair
An AEW star saved Bryan Danielson from being clobbered with a steel chair by Jack Perry this week on Dynamite. The talent in question is Claudio Castagnoli.
The September 4, 2024, episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite featured a blockbuster six-person tag match pitting the team of Orange Cassidy, Kyle O'Reilly, and Will Ospreay against the AEW World Trios Champions Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and PAC. The latter group won the aforementioned titles in a brutal London Ladders Match at All In 2024.
The star-studded trios match on Dynamite presented fast-paced, high-flying action, with Castagnoli ultimately picking up the win for his team after executing a Giant Swing-dropkick combination with Yuta on O'Reilly. After the match, the Blackpool Combat Club members would be joined in their in-ring celebration by their stable-mate and reigning AEW World Champion, Bryan Danielson.
However, all three men were then blindsided by members of The Elite. The Young Bucks attempted to hold down The American Dragon so Jack Perry could take him out with a steel chair, but the 43-year-old star's team-mates from the BCC intervened in time, helping Danielson to clear the ring of The Jackson Brothers, Perry and Kazuchika Okada.
Afterwards, The Swiss Cyborg challenged the EVPs to put their World Tag Team Titles on the line against him and Wheeler Yuta at All Out 2024. Danielson, for his part, promised to stomp Jack Perry's head in during his upcoming AEW World Championship match against The Scapegoat this Saturday at the same pay-per-view.
