AEW star unexpectedly loses his championship outside the company
An AEW star, part of one of its hottest stables has lost a championship match in another wrestling promotion. The loss has come as a big shock to the wrestling community.
That wrestler in question is Kyle Fletcher, who is a part of the Don Callis Family. Fletcher, who is only 25 years of age, is a former IWGP Tag Team Champion and is a regular feature on AEW, ROH, and NJPW. He and Mark Davis comprise the tag team Aussie Open.
The former ROH Television Champion lost the title to Atlantis Jr. The two fought each other at CMLL Super Viernes on June 28.
"Atlantis Jr. has defeated Kyle Fletcher to become the new ROH World Television Champion!!! A super Canadian Destroyer followed by two back to back Frog Splashes did the job," the post read.
Meanwhile, Atlantis Jr. is also one of the budding stars of Mexico. He first wrestled under the ring name Tiburon and is now known by his current moniker after it was revealed that he was the son of the famous Luchador, Atlantis. The star is also 25 years of age.
AEW's Kyle Fletcher was pulled out of major wrestling show
Kyle Fletcher has been performing for various wrestling promotions and was all set to be a part of AAA's Triplemania. However, he was pulled out of the show, and replaced by Blake Christian.
He was set to team with Nick Wayne and CIMA, to take on Kommander, Laredo Kid, and Octagon, along with D'Luxe, Destiny, and Noisy Boy of the Crash Team in a three-way Trios match. There's no disclosure as to why the replacement took place.
