AEW star Will Ospreay confirms he will not appear at major upcoming event

Will Ospreay has been having a good time in the Continental Classic Tournament. However, the AEW star confirmed that he will miss a major upcoming event.

PROGRESS Wrestling is set to host their Unboxing event on December 29th. This event usually features surprise appearances by some major names in the industry. This year's event is called Curtain Call. It has already been announced that El Hijo Del Vikingo will make his debut for the promotion during the event. However, one notable name is set to miss the event.

PROGRESS Wrestling shared a message from Will Ospreay on social media where he confirmed that he will not make the event this year.

“I’m not on Unboxing this year. Surprise!”

Tate Mayfairs who competed against Ospreay at PROGRESS Chapter 153: Super Strong Style 16 Tournament Edition last year and lost claimed that the AEW star is never returning to the promotion because he's afraid that he'll get knocked out in the ring this time.

“He ain’t ever coming back cause he knows he owes me a rematch and this time I’ll knock him out.”

Will Ospreay is off to a hot start in the Continental Classic Tournament

Despite coming off a crushing defeat to his former best friend and stablemate, Kyle Fletcher, Will Ospreay still hasn't missed a beat. The Continental Classic Tournament is underway and Ospreay is part of the Gold League.

He defeated Juice Robinson in his first match of the tournament on the 27th November episode of Collision. This week on Dynamite, he competed in his second match of the tournament against Claudio Castagnoli and won again. However, Castagnoli was upset after the loss and he ambushed The Aerial Assassin and grabbed a steel chair. But, he was stopped by Darby Allin.

It will be interesting to see if Ospreay will be able to win the Continental Classic Tournament.
