AEW veteran Jim Ross reacts to idea of AI sustaining his voice for commentary
Jim Ross has one of the most iconic voices in wrestling, and he has now reacted to the idea of using AI to sustain his voice for the coming generations. This could be a game-changer.
The AEW veteran has been away from full-time commentary, only showing up in select pay-per-views owing to health conditions. He has been in the commentary business for decades and revealed that while he does not know what AI is, he said it would be great for his grandkids to be able to listen to their grandfather.
Ross was speaking on his Grilling JR podcast when he said:
“First of all, I don’t know what the f**k AI is. I know it’s out there. I’ve heard people talk about it. But I’m just being very upfront and frank because that’s how I work. So I’m not the best person to explain my potential in AI. To the second part of the question, that would be really cool for my grandkids or their kids to see grandpa doing his thing, so if I could get paid for it [laughs], I’m happy to do it." Jim Ross praises AEW’s Kenny Omega
Kenny Omega is one of the most famous stars in AEW, but he has been plagued with injuries. That has put him on the shelf, which also means that he has not been able to showcase his talents to the fans fully.
Jim Ross has seen a lot of stars during his stellar career but has now revealed that Omega is by far his favorite. He showed his admiration for Omega on his Grilling JR podcast when he said:
"So you know, we’ll see. But Kenny Omega is one of my favorites. I’m just selfish, I want my guys to be front and center. I just don’t want to lose Kenny Omega permanently from AEW television. He’s too good, he’s just really, really good. And guys like that don’t come along all the time. They don’t grow on trees, as the little cliche goes. But they know they don’t come along, but only a few times in a lifetime. So you hate to lose a guy that’s got that much talent, that much first versatility.”
It will be great to see Kenny Omega return soon and have Jim Ross comment on one of his matches.
