After Bryan Danielson, Jim Ross thinks another former WWE Champion will retire in AEW

AEW veteran Jim Ross believes that former WWE Champion Chris Jericho will join the likes of Bryan Danielson and Sting and retire in AEW. JR is a color commentator in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Chris Jericho shocked the world after signing a deal with AEW in 2019. The veteran went on to become the first World Champion of the promotion and is still performing full-time in the company. However, many have criticized Jericho for taking TV time from other talent but The Learning Tree always manages to capitalize on the heat.

On his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross said that Chris Jericho might retire in All Elite Wrestling. He praised the veteran and claimed that he's the kind of guy that should be in the locker room.

“I think AEW will be his last stand. He’s got lots of influence there. He pretty much books his own programs, he lays out his own matches, and why not? That’s what you want. I’m all for that. I wish more talents would take a personal interest in what they’re doing. Chris has developed a relationship with Tony Khan that has been pretty substantial. He’s the kind of guy you want around. He’s the kind of guy that you want as an office guy. He’s the kind of guy you want in those roles.” [H/T: InsideTheRopes]

Vince McMahon had a problem with AEW star Chris Jericho's height

In another episode of his Grilling JR podcast, the former WWE RAW commentator Jim Ross revealed how he was happy to bring Chris Jericho to WWE. However, he also mentioned how former WWE CEO Vince McMahon wasn't a fan of Jericho's height.

"I thought it was a great get for us," Ross said. "Chris was experienced. He was a veteran. He understood all the little nuances of becoming and maintaining stardom in a professional wrestling environment. One of my best signees, without question. I just remember Vince was astonished how short Vince perceived Jericho to be."

Despite these issues, Chris Jericho went on to become one of the biggest stars in WWE and is a former six-time World Champion. It will be interesting to see if he returns to the promotion in the future.
