After Cody Rhodes, Matt Cardona advocates for AEW veteran's WWE Hall of Fame induction

Matt Cardona put forth his view on an AEW veteran's possible induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. He advocated for the star to be included in the prestigious list of Hall of Famers for the Stamford-based company.

Dustin Rhodes first gained traction in WWE under the ring name 'Goldust.' During this time, he was involved in several seemingly bizarre segments. However, no matter how strange the segment, Rhodes always managed to deliver stellar performances.

Despite being a consistent performer in the ring and on the mic, Goldust was never a main event star in WWE and always took a backseat to stars like Triple H, The Rock, Kurt Angle, and others. After years of unsatisfactory bookings, Goldust left the Stamford-based promotion and joined his half-brother, Cody Rhodes in AEW under the ring name Dustin Rhodes.

In AEW, Dustin has managed to rejuvenate his career and is currently having a great run. He is one-half of the reigning ROH World Tag Team Champion alongside Sammy Guevara and also holds the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship with the Von Erich brothers, Marshall and Ross.

Given his accolades and experience in the business, Sports Illustrated posed a question on X (fka Twitter): "Should Goldust be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame?" Matt Cardona gave a positive response. Even Cody Rhodes previously advocated for his half-brother's induction into the prestigious list.

AEW producer believes that Dustin Rhodes is ready for a World Title run

Dustin Rhodes is the current Ring of Honor World Tag Team and Six-Man Tag Team Champion. This is his first run as champion since he left WWE. However, he has yet to win a world title, like his half-brother Cody Rhodes.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted podcast, All Elite Wrestling producer Ray Lloyd said that Dustin was prepared for a world title run if the Jacksonville-based company does decide to pull that trigger. He also spoke of the veteran's helpful nature and that the younger talents always looked up to him and valued his advice.

"And there's a lot of talent that look up to him and go to him for advice, which is really good to see. I definitely think that he is ready to pull the trigger. If they feel like it's a thing to put him in that position for a run, I think he is 100% ready for it," he said. [11:28 onwards]

It will be interesting to see if Dustin Rhodes will follow in Cody's footsteps and win either the ROH or AEW World Championship in the near future.
