After defeating Malakai Black, Adam Cole announced for a huge first-time-ever AEW match

Adam Cole picked up a huge win on Malakai Black this week on Dynamite. Now, he is set to face AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita in a first-time-ever match.

Cole was out of action for a year due to a serious injury. He returned on AEW WrestleDream after being away from the TV for months. Since his comeback, he has defeated Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews in singles action on Dynamite.

That said, MJF sent a message to Don Callis on this week's Dynamite and asked him to take care of Adam Cole for him. Now, The Panama City Playboy is set to take on AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita of The Don Callis Family to earn a match with The Wolf of Wrestling at AEW Full Gear. The huge first-time-ever AEW match will take place next week on Dynamite emanating from Total Mortgage Aren in Bridgeport, CT.

Adam Cole debunks rumors suggesting the reason for his WWE departure

Adam Cole was one of the top stars in NXT during his time in WWE. He was the leader of The Undisputed Era and also held the NXT Championship for around 403 days.

According to rumors in the wrestling world, he cut ties with WWE because Vince McMahon was planning to shift him to the main roster but as Keith Lee's manager. Speaking on Stick to Wrestling, Cole stated that this was not the case.

"No one ever personally told me, ‘Hey, we want to bring you to RAW or SmackDown to be a manager.' I’m not saying that was never discussed amongst people without my knowledge. I certainly think it’s possible, but as far as them bringing me into a room and saying, ‘We want to keep you, but we want to use you as a manager,’ I never had that discussion," he said.
