After Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk, another strap match made official but in AEW
A strap match has been made official in AEW. The hard-hitting bout has seemingly become the flavor of the season after CM Punk defeated Drew McIntyre in the same contest at WWE Bash in Berlin in August.
The two AEW stars that will be involved in the strap match are Jeff Jarrett and 'Hangman' Adam Page. Jarrett and Page were involved in a brawl on Dynamite and the WWE Hall of Famer seemed furious about the situation.
On Collision, a pre-taped video of Double J was shown. In an interview with Renee Paquette after Dynamite's conclusion, Jeff Jarrett called out the former AEW World Champion for a match at Grand Slam, which will take place in New York at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
The veteran wrestler proposed a lumberjack strap match and said he would punish Adam Page for his recent actions. Jarrett added that the lumberjacks would be given straps that they could use during the match.
Double J then vowed to teach Page a lesson in their match. This would be a one of a kind contest, given that it would not only be a strap match, but a lumberjack strap bout.
McIntyre vs. Punk in WWE received much praise from viewers. It will be interesting to see how Jarrett vs. Page plays out.
