Former WWE star sends cryptic tweet following AEW Rampage run-in with the Hardy Boyz
After the week they've had in AEW, you could be forgiven for believing that Andrade and the AFO (formerly AHFO, HFO) are down on their luck.
Not only did the trio of Matt Hardy, Andrade and Isiah Kassidy lose to Sting, Darby Allin and Sammy Guevara, but when the faction agreed to scapegoat Hardy for the loss, they inadvertently brought about the reunion of the Hardy Boyz in AEW.
On AEW Rampage, the AFO made their way down to the ring during a match between Marc Quen and Darby Allin. They wouldn't have the chance to interfere, however, as the Hardy Boyz came out to make the save.
However, it seems Andrade is unphased by the setback. He took to Twitter today to quote, of all people, Star Wars' Emperor Palpatine:
There has been no confirmation as to who the first opponents will be for the Hardy Boyz in their new playground. Both Private Party and the Butcher and the Blade carry the AFO flag, but it's Quen and Kassidy that have provoked Matt Hardy the most.
A match against Sting and Darby Allin could also be in the cards should their temporary alliance with the Hardy Boyz fall apart.
Andrade has failed to score a big win in AEW for months
Despite his show of confidence on social media, results tell a very different story for Andrade El Idolo. He's been unable to secure a win outside of Dark and Dark Elevation since November of last year.
The last time Andrade had his hand-raised on cable television was on Dynamite's Thanksgiving special, where he teamed with Malakai Black and FTR to defeat Cody Rhodes and Death Triangle. After that, Andrade ate the pin from Cody to close out their feud.
El Idolo has also failed in his goals to capture the TNT title from Sammy Guevara and to procure Darby Allin as his new assistant. In fact, he lost to both men in a three-way, then again to Sammy in singles action, and yet again in a trios tag match against the two and Sting at Revolution.
