Big announcement made about MJF; the former AEW World Champion reacts

AEW just made a big announcement about MJF ahead of tonight's episode of Dynamite. The record-breaking former World Champion has now reacted.

MJF is undoubtedly one of AEW's biggest homegrown stars. He has quickly risen to popularity due to his impressive mic skills and in-ring ability. This enabled him to eventually become the AEW World Champion - a title he held for over 400 days before losing it to Samoa Joe in December 2023. After taking several months off television, Friedman made his return recently and will also be in action against RUSH this week on Dynamite.

Given his return, All Elite Wrestling announced that new Maxwell Jacob Friedman merchandise has arrived at shopaew.com. The 28-year-old's previous shirt stirred controversy when its design was speculated to be AI-generated, and the former AEW World Champion reacted to his new shirt's release in trademark fashion:

"Art by none robot man @Jpegolden Buy it or you support robots."

Jeff Jarrett opened up on MJF's success

MJF's antics have gotten a lot of people talking in the business. He is often able to get people to react to him. Friedman's skills on the mic and in the ring have drawn praise from several wrestling legends.

During an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda's Senior Editor, Bill Apter, Jeff Jarrett commented on Maxwell Jacob Friedman saying that he will be his own worst enemy or driver for the success.

"He's gonna be either his own worst enemy or he's gonna be truly the driver for the success, and I truly believe, not just for him, but for anybody, it's gonna find out how bad does he really want. What's gonna make MJF tick and motivate, not just this year, but the next year and the next year... I think the sky is the limit. He's accomplished an awful lot in this industry in a relatively short period of time." [From 04:20 to 04:51]

It remains to be seen if the former AEW World Champion will be able to climb back up the mountain and regain his title.
