Big blow for Tony Khan; former AEW Women’s World Champion announces injury immediately after return

Tony Khan has received some bad news as a former AEW Women’s World Champion announced that she suffered an unfortunate injury immediately after her return. This will no doubt sting Tony.

The star in question is none other than Riho. The star made her return from injury last week on June 29 on AEW Collision. She confronted Serena Deeb and also issued an open challenge.

On last week’s Collision, she took on Lady Frost in what was her first match since her comeback from a long layoff. She came out on top in the match but it came at a cost. She seemingly suffered an injury and she has now taken to Instagram to confirm that she had indeed fractured her arm.

Posting a picture of her in sling, she wrote:

“I just fractured my arm but I’m doing very well❤️‍🔥.”

Tony Khan will be hoping that the Japanese star can make a quick recovery and that she would return to action soon.

Jim Cornette blasts Tony Khan for signing Riho

Jim Cornette is apparently not a big fan of Riho and he made it evident in a past episode of his podcast. It has been rumored that Riho is currently earning around $400,000 in AEW. Cornette said that she does not warrant that much money.

Speaking on his Drive Thru podcast, he blasted Tony Khan and said:

"The guy said she wrestled like 10 times. Do you think she could’ve wrestled more than 20 or 25? Even doing dark matches on YouTube or whatever? (...) My God, if she’s making half of that and she had 20 matches, then $200,000 for 20 matches, he's paying her 10 grand a match. It’s getting a little bit more believable, although stupid."

Cornette is someone that does not hold back on his views and he made his feelings known about Riho on his show.

Everyone at Sportskeeda would like to send their best wishes to the AEW star.
