Big name challenges Bryan Danielson to a "legitimate fight" following his recent comments

A popular star has issued a challenge to former WWE Champion Bryan Danielson after the latter recently expressed his wish to have a legitimate fight. The star is none other than Tom Lawlor.

Tom Lawlor is a retired mixed martial artist and an MMA fighter turned professional wrestler. He is a former MLW World Champion and was locked in to face Adam Cole at the Forbidden Door PPV last year. However, the match did not take place due to Cole's injury. It seems like Bryan Danielson's recent comments about his interest in a legitimate fight have caught the attention of Tom Lawlor.

The 41-year-old reacted to The American Dragon's comments on his X (Twitter) account and challenged the AEW star to a mixed martial arts fight.

"As another man willing to get into a legitimate fight, I hereby challenge @bryandanielson to a mixed martial arts fight. Let’s have some fun!" he wrote.

AEW star Bryan Danielson wants to be involved in a legitimate fight

Bryan Danielson is one of the most physical professional wrestlers in the business. The veteran has had some brutal matches in the Jacksonville-based promotion, which has led to him suffering some major injuries.

Speaking on The Hull Show, The American Dragon opened up about the brutality in professional wrestling. Danielson spoke about how the real-life heat between two stars makes for great angles in wrestling and expressed his desire to be involved in a fight.

"I love the spontaneity. Wrestling is what it is, but there is a spontaneous aspect to it too, even in the way you react to the crowd or how you react to somebody doing something to you. Sometimes, the physicalitysometimes you get into a legit beef out there. That's fun, too! I said this to somebody not too long ago. If I die and I don't get into another legitimate fight, I think I'm going to be a little bit sad," he said.

Bryan Danielson is reportedly set to retire as a full-time wrestler later this year. It will be interesting to see if he captures a title in All Elite Wrestling in the upcoming months.
