Bobby Lashley breaks silence amidst AEW debut rumors

Bobby Lashley has finally commented on his immediate future following recent speculation that he was headed to AEW to reunite with his former Hurt Business comrades. The All-Mighty departed from WWE back in August, as his contract with them expired.

Recent reports have mentioned that AEW has had talks with him, and his debut was rumored to be imminent. MVP and Shelton Benjamin have already landed in the promotion, and are in a feud currently with Swerve Strickland.

While appearing in one of K & S WrestleFest's virtual signings, Bobby Lashley addressed his immediate future. He noted how he still had a lot left in the tank and he had been working on preparing for a return. He teased that something was going down, and said it was now time for him to get the ball rolling.

"I know the last few years have been a little up and down. But I got a lot more left in the tank and I can’t wait to jump back out there. I had a little boo-boo, so I took a little time off to fix myself and I’m feeling good right now. I’ve been working out hard and I think the next few weeks, you should see something - something pop off. It’s time to put pen to paper and start getting back to these fans."

He spoke about the various offers he had and talked about the possibility of going to either TNA or AEW. While speaking about the latter, he spoke about possibly reuniting with the members of the Hurt Business. He also revealed that he had seen Lio Rush's match with Shelton Benjamin last week, and how he wasn't happy seeing Rush getting beaten down.

"I seen Lio (Rush) over there over at AEW plus, MVP and Shelton (Benjamin). That’s always a good opportunity to get back into the - you know what? It’s whatever. I’ll let the fans pick. Lio Rush is my dude. I’ll fight for Lio. I saw Shelton fight Lio last week and I wasn’t too happy about that. I wasn’t too happy about that. I like Lio. Lio’s a freaking star." Booker T reveals who he would want to see Bobby Lashley face in his debut

Should Bobby Lashley make his debut in the Jacksonville-based promotion soon, it remains to be seen who his opponent could be. WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently brought up a match concept as he felt that a certain star on the roster would be a great opponent for him. This would be Brian Cage.

On his Hall of Fame podcast, he mentioned how with Cage being the ROH TV Champion, he should lock horns with Bobby Lashley. He brought up how both massive men would have an interesting bout, and Cage's ability to run the ropes and do dives would be an interesting aspect of the match.

"Cage got the title, right? Throw him [Lashley] in there with Brian Cage. I mean, that's a lot of beef. Both of those guys, they match very good together, right? Brian Cage likes doing dives as well. He's a diver. That might be good. That might be the match. I booked it." [H/T - WrestlingInc.]

As of this point, it seems The Hurt Syndicate is looking for the right timing for Bobby Lashley's debut. This move will surely be a gamechanger for the company once it comes to fruition.
