Bobby Lashley claims former AEW Champion wants to join The Hurt Syndicate - "The answer's no"
MVP has been busy handing out business cards to several talent backstage. Bobby Lashley has now claimed that a former AEW Champion is interested in joining The Hurt Syndicate.
When MVP first debuted in AEW, he tried to acquire Swerve Strickland's services at AEW WrestleDream. However, the former AEW World Champion turned him down. This resulted in a match between Shelton Benjamin and Swerve on the 30th October episode of Dynamite. Following this match, Bobby Lashley made his debut and attacked Swerve.
Lashley and Swerve finally locked horns at AEW Full Gear but it was The All Mighty who picked up a dominant win. It looks like Swerve is not done with Lashley yet, as the former AEW World Champion confronted him at the AEW All In Countdown to On Sale event, leading many to believe that a rematch was imminent. However, Lashley has another theory as to why Strickland confronted him.
Speaking on the Sports Guys Talk Wrestling podcast, Bobby Lashley claimed that Swerve stepped onto the podium because he wanted another opportunity to join The Hurt Syndicate. However, The All Mighty said that the former AEW World Champion will have to earn it this time.
"He wants another opportunity to be a part of the Hurt Syndicate. We just don’t know if we’re gonna give it to him. So whatever he’s trying to do, I said, hey man, we’re gonna put an ad on Indeed and a couple of the other sites, and you can apply. We’ll look at your application and see if you have the ability to be in it. But right now, the answer’s no [laughs]."
Bobby Lashley also said that if Swerve Strickland faced him in the ring again, he would send him to the hospital. He also claimed that Swerve was not confident heading into their match at Full Gear.
"If you want to get back in the ring with me, I’m gonna beat you up again, but this time, I’m gonna send you on a little vacation. It’s called the hospital or surgery, however you want to say it. But he doesn’t want to mess with me. He’s gonna have to start back with someone else, build himself up a little bit so he gets a little bit more confidence. I think that when we had the match, he didn’t have all the confidence. I think he was a little down on himself." [H/T Fightful]
Bobby Lashley says The Hurt Syndicate is going to ruffle a lot of feathers
The Hurt Syndicate has burst onto the scene in dominant fashion. The group has been intimidating and shown what will happen if they don't get their way. MVP has been busy trying to recruit another member into their group and has handed his business cards to several wrestlers backstage.
Many people are afraid to turn him down due to what happened to Swerve and they will be even more intimidated after Lashley's recent message.
Speaking on the same podcast episode, Bobby Lashley said that they will be ruffling a lot of feathers since they are going to beat people up and take what they want which won't make a lot of people in the AEW locker room happy.
“I think that happened is that we’re going to ruffle a lot of feathers over at AEW. Because when we first come in there, we’re just gonna be beating people up and taking what we want. I think a lot of people are gonna get upset. Unfortunately, Swerve was just right there, and he caught a bullet." [H/T Fightful]
It will be interesting to see who The Hurt Syndicate will recruit into their group in the coming weeks.
