Bobby Lashley reveals two stars he was talking to, which decided him going to AEW

AEW star Bobby Lashley disclosed which stars helped him decide to sign with the Tony Khan-led promotion. The stars being discussed are The Hurt Syndicate's Shelton Benjamin and MVP.

The All Mighty was one of the top veterans in the Stamford-based promotion. However, with the company's leadership changes, he was lost in the shuffle. Along with him, former Hurt Business members also lost their spots in the promotion. Eventually, Lashley departed from WWE in August 2024 after his contract expired. In the next months, Shelton Benjamin and MVP arrived at AEW.

Wasting no time, Bobby Lashley made the jump to All Elite Wrestling and made his debut at Fright Night Dynamite on October 30. He is currently aligned with MVP and Shelton Benjamin. The former WWE Champion's run is going strong in AEW as he recently defeated Swerve Strickland at the Full Gear pay-per-view.

During his recent appearance at Insight with Chris Van Vliet, The All Mighty claimed that his decision to join the Jacksonville-based promotion was highly influenced by Shelton and MVP, who wanted to recreate the faction in the promotion.

"I was talking to MVP, and I was talking to Shelton, and we were like, let's run this back. Let's run the group back. Let's do it. We have that option. We're all out at this time. So let's see if we can go and do this the right way," he said. [H/T - Insight with Chris Van Vliet]

Wrestling veteran claims Bobby Lashley should be the AEW World Champion

The All Mighty has been presented as a beast in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Meanwhile, Jon Moxley is currently having a mediocre title run.

While speaking with Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine, veteran wrestling journalist Bill Apter claimed that Bobby Lashley, if he is crowned world champion, could be a great representative for AEW.

"If you want a champion that looks great in a suit, not wearing bummy clothing like Moxley, you know, casual clothing, you want somebody that you could send to a sports banquet who looks good. You want somebody who when they come to the ring, looks the part of a World Heavyweight Champion. Again, color has nothing to do with it, It's Bobby Lashley."

It will be interesting to see who will be the next rival of the 48-year-old star.
