Bobby Lashley's shocking debut hits major milestones for AEW in no time
AEW fans are majorly buzzing this week over the official debut of Bobby Lashley. After weeks of rumors and speculations, the latest former WWE Superstar signed by Tony Khan made his first appearance in All Elite Wrestling on Fright Night Dynamite. This week's ratings aren't the only cause for celebration coming out of Dynamite as Lashley also helped the company hit major social media milestones.
The All Mighty made his All Elite Wrestling arrival on Wednesday's Dynamite, right after Shelton Benjamin's main event loss to Swerve Strickland. Lashley hit the ring to officially reunite the former WWE stable as The Hurt Syndicate. Fright Night ended with the faction standing tall after Lashley, MVP, and Benjamin triple-teamed Strickland and Prince Nana.
Lashley is drawing major numbers for AEW on social media. The initial video of The All Mighty's debut during Shelton vs. Swerve currently has a few million views, and counting, along with thousands of shares and other interactions. These numbers do not include the massive engagements that the various follow-up videos have received.
Lashley's debut has already drawn more than a million views on AEW's official YouTube channel, with the count at 1,201,722 as of this writing. There are also around 34,000 likes and 3,600 comments as of now. The company has 7,611 videos on YouTube, and Lashley's debut is already the 286th most popular.
AEW is also drawing big views on X (fka Twitter) with Lashley's debut. The original video uploaded on the platform currently shows 1.1 million views, but this has been the count for some time, and will likely change soon. As of this writing, the clip also has around 600 comments, more than 2,500 retweets, over 450 quote-tweets, almost 11,000 likes, and nearly 900 bookmarks.
The Conqueror has increased AEW's buzz on TikTok and Facebook as well. The TikTok version of Lashley's debut currently has 635,400 views and counting, along with around 1,300 comments, more than 50,000 likes, around 3,700 saves, and more than 4,200 shares. Out of the company's 2,956 videos on the popular platform, Lashley's debut is ranked 35th currently.
The Facebook version of The Conquerer's All Elite arrival currently has more than 850,000 videos. Facebook users have shared the clip more than 1,600 times, given more than 26,000 reactions, and posted more than 2,000 comments.
Lashley's segment is AEW's first clip to draw more than a million views on YouTube since Saraya vs. Jamie Hayter's clash at Collision Grand Slam on September 28. To compare, that video currently has 1,394,229 views, almost 600 comments, and over 10,000 likes. Furthermore, at present Saraya vs. Hayter is the 192nd most popular out of the 7,611 videos on AEW's YouTube.
AEW Full Gear updated lineup
All Elite Wrestling will present its sixth annual Full Gear pay-per-view in just twenty-two days. The company is returning to the same venue that hosted the event in 2023, the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
Officials now have four matches set for Full Gear. Below is the updated lineup:
- Zero Hour Pre-show: QT Marshall vs. "Big BOOM" AJ with Big Justice of The Costco Guys;
- MJF vs. Roderick Strong or Adam Cole;
- Adam Page vs. Jay White;
- World Championship Match: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Adam Cole.
There are several rumored or expected matches for Full Gear as well, including Bobby Lashley vs. Swerve Strickland. TBS Champion Mercedes Moné is expected to defend against Kris Statlander, while Ricochet is expected to challenge International Champion Konosuke Takeshita.
