Bobby Lashley says The Hurt Syndicate recruiting top star is going to be like Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman joining forces
Bobby Lashley has recently hinted that the Hurt Syndicate might be interested in a popular name. He even claimed that this move could be similar to the partnership between Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman.
Ricochet has been a major interest of the faction since their first day with the company. MVP has handed him his business card, and the group has checked in with him from time to time. It seems he may be their top prospect as their fourth man.
During his appearance on the Lame Guys Wrestling podcast, Bobby Lashley mentioned how he and Ricochet were similar, seeing that he was considered a major babyface at one point. He discussed how this changed once he aligned with MVP in the Hurt Business.
“Everybody says that. What’s cool about him is he (Ricochet) runs into the same category I did. I was such a babyface and people still see me as a babyface. When I’m with the Hurt Business and I link up with MVP, they’re like, ‘Alright, he’s a heel.’ It helped me because having a heel manager helps a babyface make that switch.”
The All Mighty mentioned that if the former NXT North American Champion joins the Hurt Syndicate, this could be similar to Roman Reigns aligning with Paul Heyman, as he would be an instant heel. He also brought up how this could be similar to how they worked with Cedric Alexander, as he had to bring out a more physical side of him after joining forces with them.
"Roman (Reigns) and Paul (Heyman). Ricochet could be. With him, it would be a different kind of grit that he would have. That’s what we did with Cedric. Cedric’s stuff is so pretty and flashy, we’re like, ‘Stop it. Just smash this dude in his face.'” [H/T WrestleTalk]
The Hurt Syndicate was recently spotted with Ricochet outside of AEW
Apart from running into each other on multiple occasions in the AEW backstage area, the Hurt Syndicate was seen interacting with Ricochet in an event outside the promotion.
This was at the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match last week. The former WWE high-flyer was with Samantha Irvin, and many other wrestlers in the industry were with them in the VIP area.
A fan posted on Instagram how he was feeling after the bout. He was watching from the same area as the AEW stars. At one corner, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin were spotted approaching Ricochet, and they shook hands.
Ricochet has mentioned that he has nothing against the Hurt Syndicate but no plans to join them. It remains to be seen if this decision of his will change anytime soon.
