Bobby Lashley teases return to major promotion ahead of imminent AEW debut
It has been reported that Bobby Lashley is AEW-bound following his WWE exit. Before his imminent arrival in All Elite Wrestling, Lashley teased returning to TNA Wrestling.
The All Mighty left WWE this year in August after his contract with the company expired. He worked in TNA Wrestling from 2009 to 2010 and returned for another successful stint in 2014.
Bobby Lashley recently attended the K&S WrestleFest's virtual signing, where he teased a return to TNA. The former WWE Champion said he would like to wrestle Nic Nemeth and Moose, who are among the top names in the Nashville-based organization.
"A feud with Nic would actually be pretty cool. I know he's running the show over there. I also talk with Moose, he's a good friend of mine. Phenomenal wrestler. That's a feud I really haven't been able to jump into. I see Lio [Rush] over at AEW with MVP and Shelton [Benjamin]. That's also a good opportunity." [H/T: Fightful]
Lashley has been rumored to join AEW for weeks. The veteran's former stablemates, MVP and Shelton Benjamin, recently joined the Tony Khan-led promotion, possibly laying the foundation for a Hurt Business reunion. Benjamin and MVP are part of the Hurt Syndicate in All Elite Wrestling.
Bobby Lashley addressed his immediate future
At the K&S WrestleFest's virtual signing, Bobby Lashley commented on his immediate future. He teased a return to the ring and hinted that he was ready to get back to pro wrestling.
"I know the last few years have been a little up and down. But I got a lot more left in the tank and I can’t wait to jump back out there. I had a little boo-boo, so I took a little time off to fix myself and I’m feeling good right now. I’ve been working out hard and I think [in] the next few weeks, you should see something—something pop off. It’s time to put pen to paper and start getting back to these fans."
Lashley is a two-time WWE Champion, two-time Intercontinental Champion, and three-time United States Champion. He is also known for his career in mixed martial arts, competing in Bellator MMA and Strikeforce.
