"Bobby doesn't do that" - WWE veteran says Tony Khan must address issues about Bobby Lashley and the AEW rosterĀ (Exclusive)

Bobby Lashley left WWE to sign with AEW a couple of months ago. However, WWE veteran Vince Russo has pointed out major issues with The All Mighty's direction and advised Tony Khan to fix them.

MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Bobby Lashley are a part of The Hurt Syndicate faction in AEW. The group has been booked strong since arriving at the Jacksonville-based promotion. Despite the strong booking, WWE veteran Vince Russo has raised questions about Bobby Lashley's direction in the promotion. Many have also called for Lashley to challenge for the AEW World Championship.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws podcast with Dr. Chris, Vince Russo questioned which AEW talent Tony Khan has planned to put up against Bobby Lashley. He also claimed that Khan might have brought Lashley to the promotion only because of his popularity:

"We all know let's be honest when Tony Khan's bringing in Ricochet, Tony Khan's going through all the dream matches in his head we all know that he's going to go up against [Will] Ospreay and he can go against this guy and we know that's how he's thinking. But then bro you're bringing in Bobby Lashley. So who do you see Bobby Lashley working with? that roster has to work together so that's the thing man it's almost like Tony's bringing in Bobby Lashley for the sake of bringing in Bobby Lashley."

He further explained:

"But you have to think about how am I going to book him? who is he going to work with? because 80 percent of our roster is this style and Bobby doesn't do that. I mean these are the questions that you got to ask beforehand Chris because once he comes in you're going to be faced with these issues." [From 20:26 to 21:33]

AEW star Bobby Lashley is a former WWE Champion

The All Mighty had a successful second run in the WWE after his return in 2018. He captured the Intercontinental and United States Championship but winning the World Title in 2021 solidified him as a main event star.

On an episode of Monday Night RAW in 2021, Bobby Lashley defeated The Miz to become WWE Champion. He had a decent run with the title before dropping it to Big E later that year. Lashley was once again champion after defeating Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble 2022 PLE.

The fans will have to wait and see if Bobby Lashley wins the AEW World Title in the near future.
