Booker T loves the rumors of major AEW stars joining WWE: "Put them on the main roster"
Five-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion Booker T currently works as a color commentator for WWE's development brand, NXT. Furthermore, the 59-year-old appears in various podcasts from time to time and expresses his opinions on the current happenings in the world of professional wrestling. Not only does he talk about his current employers but also promotions such as TNA and AEW.
One of the most popular tag teams in AEW right now is the Lucha Brothers, which consists of Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fénix. In the Jacksonville-based promotion, they have won the World Tag Team Championship once. Furthermore, the duo and Pac constitute the stable, Death Triangle, who are one-time AEW World Trios Champions. Individually, Fénix is a former AEW International Championship. The Lucha Brothers' contracts with the Jacksonville-based promotion will reportedly expire this year and they are rumored to leave the company.
In a recent episode of The Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T spoke about the rumors of the aforementioned tag team joining the WWE. He stated that he would love to see them on the main roster because they are immensely talented.
"I love it! Bring the Lucha brothers in. Put them on the main roster. You can let them cut through NXT and stuff. Those guys are extraordinary talent. Give them a chance," he said. [45:49 - 45:59]
Booker T wants AEW's Ricky Starks to join WWE
In an older episode of The Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T said that former FTW Champion Ricky Starks would also be a perfect signing for WWE.
“I think he fits in perfectly. I mean, I really do. I think he’s got that look, he’s got the swagger. His name has gotten there before he did, so that right there said a whole lot about Ricky Starks. The guy believes in himself," he said. (H/T 411MANIA)
Fans will have to stay tuned to find out whether the Lucha Brothers and Ricky Starks will ever make their way to WWE.
