Booker T wants former WWE U.S. Champion to join AEW - "He is gonna be looking for a five-star match"

AEW is rumored to be interested in signing multiple former WWE Superstars. Booker T has just weighed in on the speculation with a bold prediction for a veteran star that could become All Elite in the near future.

Ricochet officially left WWE this past week. He is not under a 90-day non-compete clause as his contract ran out, which means the former WWE United States Champion is a free agent and able to sign with whoever he wants. The 21-year veteran has been rumored to join All Elite Wrestling since news of his release first surfaced last month.

Speaking on his Hall Of Fame podcast, Booker T said he believes The Highlight Of The Night will fit in on the AEW roster. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer predicted Ricochet will be looking to create five-star magic in the ring:

"I think Ricochet is one of those guys who'd fit into somewhere like AEW. When he goes into the ring, he is gonna be looking for a five-star match ... I just think that's his mentality, to go out and perform, and perform at that highest level that he possibly can and go out there and create some magic in the middle of the ring," Booker T said. Ricochet wrestled his final WWE match on June 7. The pre-SmackDown tapings for WWE Speed saw the inaugural champion drop the title to Andrade. Ricochet then made his final RAW appearance on June 10 as he was taken out by Bron Breakker.

Ricochet rumored for AEW Dynamite tournament match

All Elite Wrestling will present tonight's Dynamite with fallout from Forbidden Door 2024, plus the continuation of The Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments.

While not confirmed, it's been heavily rumored that Ricochet will debut on tonight's Dynamite as the Wild Card entrant in The Owen Cup. The first-round match is set to feature the mystery man going up against one of Owen's longtime friends, Jeff Jarrett.

AEW sources have been quiet on Ricochet's potential debut. However, backstage chatter in both companies indicates that many believe the 35-year-old will sign with Tony Khan.

The winner of tonight's tournament match will face Jay White in the semifinals. PAC vs. Bryan Danielson will also take place, with the winner facing White, Jarrett or the Wild Card in the finals on July 10 at Dynamite in Calgary.
