BREAKING: 53-day title reign comes to an end on AEW Dynamite 250

A 53-day championship reign came to a shocking end on the 250th episode of AEW Dynamite. The bout saw a former World Champion dethrone Will Ospreay.

The latest episode of Dynamite opened with Will Ospreay defending his AEW International Title against MJF. Ospreay won the title on May 26 at Double or Nothing by defeating Roderick Strong. The bout was made official on last week's show after The Wolf of Wrestling challenged the English star to put the belt on the line.

The match presented an interesting clash of styles, as Friedman tried to evade Ospreay's high-octane offense with strategically placed counter-moves. The Salt of the Earth concentrated his attack on the knees and the shoulders of the champ, who kept mounting comebacks against MJF in a battle that spilled into the crowd and the ringside area.

Towards the end of the match, The Aerial Assassin seemingly had the match won, and he contemplated finishing the job with his dreaded Tiger Driver 91. However, he opted not to use the maneuver, a decision which cost him dearly. After taking out the referee, MJF blasted Ospreay with his Dynamite Diamond Ring and pinned him with literally seconds left on the clock, becoming the new International Champion.

The Salt of the Earth may now find himself in the cross-hairs of PAC, who called his shot for the AEW International Championship for All In 2024 last week.
