Brie Bella gives a massive update on Bryan Danielson's future
Brie Bella recently provided a major update on her husband Bryan Danielson weeks after his full-time retirement from AEW. The WWE Hall of Famer revealed that The American Dragon would undergo neck surgery down the line.
Danielson lost the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley at WrestleDream 2024 in a grueling match. He was later brutalized by Moxley and his stablemates, forcing him to be stretched out of the arena in a shocking angle. Since then, it has been confirmed that Bryan Danielson was no longer a full-time wrestler.
Now, Brie Bella has shared an update on her husband on the latest episode of the podcast, The Nikki and Brie Show. The former Divas Champion revealed that Danielson was gearing up for neck surgery at an undisclosed date in the future. Bella also mentioned that she was ready for a retirement post for her husband, only for him to stop her and say that wrestlers were never fully retired.
“Bryan has to get neck surgery, so we’re waiting to hear. But it’s weird because I wanted to do this big post for him, I was even talking to him like I had all these pictures ready to go and then he’s like ‘no, because as wrestler’s we’re never full retired," said Brie Bella.
Tony Khan says Bryan Danielson is his best friend
In the post-show chat with the media after Full Gear 2024, Tony Khan brought up Danielson while talking about Jon Moxley wreaking havoc in the company. The AEW President mentioned that The American Nightmare was his best friend and that he sorely missed working alongside him on a weekly basis.
"Even though Bryan Danielson is probably my best friend in the entire world, the fact is I've worked with Jon Moxley a long time too, and even though I don't agree necessarily with what happened to Bryan Danielson, I miss him every day. I miss working with him every day. Jon Moxley is so great for this business, and we need Jon Moxley. I have to accept what happened," Khan said.
Considering how Moxley and his Death Riders stablemates brutalized Danielson at WrestleDream, it's safe to assume if the latter were ever to return, he would seek vengeance against the current AEW World Champion.
