Britt Baker and MJF's backstage conflict in AEW is "not necessarily a bad thing," says champion (Exclusive)
AEW reportedly had another conflict recently added to its list of backstage dramas, this time between Britt Baker and MJF. While this may seem like bad news, a reigning champion believes that problems like these can be beneficial sometimes.
According to reports, Britt Baker allegedly made a few controversial comments about the former AEW World Champion and his girlfriend, Alicia Atout. This incident led to MJF allegedly punching a hole in a wall before Baker was suspended. While her suspension has already been lifted, this incident has left a bad taste in the mouth for much of the fanbase.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws show, reigning NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, EC3 talked about the incident and stated he didn't know details of the backstage altercation but said it was common in pro wrestling. He further noted that such a work environment sometimes pushes talents to perform better, so it wasn't always a bad thing.
"I don't know what was said that entitles an actual disciplinary measure. Sometimes a locker room does tend to get heated. Sometimes people trade barbs. There's exchanges, sometimes tensions rise. You know sometimes it also creates a work environment that pushes people to be better, so it's not necessarily a bad thing," he said. [3:45 onwards]

EC3 believes neither side can be blamed in AEW at this point
According to the NWA veteran, there is not enough evidence to blame either Britt Baker or MJF for now, considering there are only rumors about the AEW incident.
Adding to his comments on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws show, EC3 stated that MJF's match lasting an hour seemed to be the reason for Britt Baker's comments and possibly did not warrant such a reactionary response from The Salt of the Earth. He did note that he did not know either side of the true story.
"I was not in that locker room, I don't know what was said. I am not baffled over an hour long match going over an hour, and that being comment worthy of punching a hole in the wall, but I also don't know what else is entailed. There is two sides to every story, and I know neither of the sides," he said. [4:05 onwards]
For now, only time will tell if more details about the incident in AEW will surface in the coming days.
