Britt Baker has one-word reaction to the possibility of Beth Phoenix joining AEW
Beth Phoenix is no longer with WWE, according to reports that dropped this weekend. The Glamazon has only sporadically competed since 2012, but she's remained affiliated with the Stamford-based promotion until now. With speculation running wild about a potential AEW debut, Dr. Britt Baker has given her thoughts on the subject.
Britt Baker returned to action at Forbidden Door on June 30 and is set to challenge Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship at All In next month. The Good Doctor is a foundational star for All Elite Wrestling, but she's never had an issue mixing it up with former WWE Superstars.
Fightful took to X (fka Twitter) today to ask a question to the wrestling world: Do you want to see Beth Phoenix in AEW? The responses were mixed but mostly positive, with many hoping to see the WWE Hall of Famer compete in a new environment, potentially alongside her husband, Adam Copeland.
Dr. Britt Baker responded to the post with a single word, indicating that she'd be happy to see The Glamazon join the Jacksonville-based promotion.
"Yes," wrote Baker.
Beth Phoenix was recently spotted with several AEW stars
Although WWE and AEW are promotional rivals, many stars from both companies maintain friendships. It's still something of a rarity to see talent from across the divide hanging out, but it seems to be a more common occurrence in the last few years.
Beth Phoenix is married to Adam Copeland, who was known as Edge in WWE. Needless to say, she's probably been around several AEW talents as a result. The Glamazon was recently spotted in a photo uploaded by Dax Harwood on Instagram.
The photo was from Harwood's birthday party, which was attended by Copeland, Phoenix, Bret Hart, and, of course, his tag team partner, Cash Wheeler, among others.
Check out Harwood's post below:
Beth Phoenix hasn't competed in the ring since she and her husband defeated Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley at Elimination Chamber in February 2023. Whether the 43-year-old chooses to mix it up with some of the younger talent on AEW's roster remains to be seen.
