Britt Baker reacts to "heartbreaking" rumors of her backstage behavior in AEW - "I’m accused of something I said or did or didn’t do"
Britt Baker is an AEW original and once was regarded by many as the face of the company's women's division. After a tough year, the real-life dentist recently made her return, but almost immediately there were more alleged backstage issues. Baker recently addressed various rumors and speculation.
Dr. Baker battled health problems that kept her on the shelf for almost ten months. She returned to feud with Mercedes Moné earlier this summer, but in no time she was wrapped up in more behind-the-scenes controversy, which seemingly resulted in a suspension.
Baker made curious remarks on WWE, AEW, and the rumors this week. This summer was not the first time the Pittsburgh native was the subject of alleged drama backstage. The rumored issues seemed to have overshadowed her return.
Baker has reiterated how heartbreaking these ongoing struggles are. She doubled down on her love for AEW and the sport in general and declared she would never do anything to undermine that. In an interview with TV Insider, the 33-year-old was asked how she managed the noise that came with being a public figure.
"There are so many things. It feels sometimes on a weekly basis where I’m accused of something I said or did or didn’t do. It’s heartbreaking because, at the end of the day, I love pro wrestling and AEW’s women’s division. I’ve never ever in my life nor would I ever do anything to sabotage it," Britt Baker said.
Baker continued and repeated previous comments on how she was focused on helping the AEW product. The 2022 Women's Owen Hart Cup winner also expressed gratitude to her fans.
"I want to help the AEW women’s division grow for a long time, to infinity and beyond. That’s my passion and goal. Unfortunately, you have to let this noise and other static be and learn how to live with it. Some days are easier than others, but it’s the nature of the business. I have a lot of passionate fans too I’m super thankful for," Britt Baker said.
Baker will return to the ring on tonight's Dynamite Fifth Anniversary show in her hometown of Pittsburgh. She will wrestle Serena Deeb. This comes after the top talent expressed hope for a major rematch in her future.
