Britt Baker set to make in-ring return against 3-time AEW Women’s World Champion on Dynamite: Blood and Guts 2024

Britt Baker has received a challenge from a former AEW Women's World Champion for next week on Dynamite: Blood and Guts. This could end up being her in-ring return after more than ten months. The challenger would be Hikaru Shida.

Shida faced off against Skye Blue earlier tonight, but this was short-lived as the match had to be called off due to her opponent sustaining an injury. While the medical staff checked on Skye, the Japanese star was pacing around the ring before eventually going backstage. She was awarded the match victory moments later.

Tonight, the former AEW Women's Champion was backstage with Lexy Nair as she expressed how unsatisfied she was with tonight's result and how she still wanted a fight. She then dropped the challenge for Britt Baker for next week at Blood and Guts.

She claimed that upon her return, Baker immediately slotted herself in the TBS title picture, and Shida wanted her to get in line.

These two stars have shared the ring on multiple occasions, whether as opponents or tag team partners, and the Japanese star wanted to remind Britt Baker that she had made her bleed in the past and could do it again.

It remains to be seen how Britt fares in her in-ring return after an extended period of time.
