Brody King recently opened up about MVP's AEW arrival. The House of Black member also revealed that he had a heartwarming backstage interaction with the WWE legend.
MVP showed up at Grand Slam 2024 much to the shock of fans. If this wasn't enough, the following week on Dynamite, he introduced Shelton Benjamin as his business partner. Fans are now anticipating to see Bobby Lashley join the duo and reform The Hurt Syndicate, formerly known as The Hurt Business in WWE. Moreover, MVP and Benjamin have tried to recruit Swerve Strickland into their group only to be met with rejection at WrestleDream 2024.
In a recent chat with Sportskeeda's Bill Apter, Brody King opened up about MVP's shocking AEW signing. The House of Black member took a trip down memory lane, recalling how the WWE veteran took him under his wing during the earlier stages of his career. Furthermore, King disclosed that following MVP's debut at Grand Slam 2024, he spoke to the former US Champion backstage and welcomed him into the company.
"If anybody knows my career, I've actually had a lot of history with MVP. We wrestled in MLW. When I was on the indies, he was one of the first persons to take me under his wing. I would consider him a mentor, he gave me a lot of advice when I was very young in the business. So when I saw him show up in AEW, it was as much a surprise to me as it was to the audience. And I walked up to him after it was done and said, 'Welcome to AEW. I'm glad you're here." Gave him a hug and a handshake," said Brody King (From 05:38 to 06:22)
