Bryan Danielson could drop the title to a major star at Worlds End, says analyst, after winning it at AEW All In

AEW star Bryan Danielson is gearing up for his Title vs. Career Match against reigning World Champion Swerve Strickland at All In 2024. Meanwhile, according to WWE analyst Sam Roberts, The American Dragon could win the title at Wembley Stadium and drop it back to Strickland at Worlds End in December.

The erstwhile Daniel Bryan won the 2024 Men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament to earn a shot at Strickland's AEW World Title at All In. The legendary wrestler recently raised the stakes for the match after many questioned his ability to win the World Title. Danielson put his career on the line and will retire from in-ring competition if he fails to dethrone Swerve Strickland at Wembley Stadium.

On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts spoke about how Bryan Danielson capturing the AEW World Title could be great, as The American Dragon can defend it throughout the fall before dropping it back to Swerve at the Worlds End PPV. However, he also noted how Danielson loves to lose high-stakes matches, such as the Career vs. Title Match at All In.

"Bryan Danielson holding out the AEW World Championship would be a beautiful thing, but I don't know. I can't help but worry that Bryan Danielson loves losing matches like this. Like he loves that story. I don't know; it could be interesting that Bryan Danielson wins the championship. Have Bryan defend it throughout the fall and then have Swerve get his rematch finally at World End and have Swerve win the title back from Bryan, maybe something like that. I'd like to see Bryan, I think, have that moment at Wembley Stadium," he said. [42:48 - 43:34]

AEW star Bryan Danielson is at peace with hanging up his boots

Ahead of his Title vs. Career Match against Swerve Strickland at All In 2024, Bryan Danielson opened up about his impending retirement during an interaction with BBC Radio.

The former WWE Champion recalled being forced to retire in 2016, admitting that did not feel right at the time as he didn't have anything else to divert his attention. However, Danielson claimed that he was at peace with calling it quits from the squared circle, as he now has a family to spend time with.

"Even going back to WWE, I haven’t won a title match in my last 19 attempts. So it’s like, I’m at peace with it. My life is different now. When I was forced to retire, I wasn’t ready. 2015 was kind of my last match, but I was forced to retire in 2016. At that point, I’m 35 years old, and I’m just like, ‘This doesn’t feel right!' I also didn’t have anything else to put my attention and focus towards, and now I do. I have a wonderful family that I’m excited about spending time with and everything,'' he said.
