Bryan Danielson reveals he personally requested for WWE legend to be involved at AEW All In 2024
It seems like Bryan Danielson personally requested a wrestling veteran to be involved in his main event match against Swerve Strickland at AEW All In 2024. This legend has a lot of history with The American Dragon.
Jim Ross is a well-respected veteran in the world of professional wrestling. Ross first made a name for himself while working in WWE as a color commentator. However, he would wear many hats behind the scenes for the Stamford-based promotion.
During his time in the company, JR also worked in talent relations where he signed several wrestlers to a developmental contract. He had also signed Bryan to his first contract. Hence, when Danielson put his career on the line at AEW All In, Jim Ross was present to call the match.
During a recent interview with Justin Barrasso, Danielson revealed that he was the one who asked for Jim Ross to call this match due to their history together.
“I asked for Jim to be part of the match. He signed me to my first wrestling contract in 2000. I wanted him to be part of the call. Jim is still fantastic. I know he’s had a lot of health issues and I’m sure getting to London was no picnic, but it meant a lot to have him there. I have also developed a really strong friendship with Tony Schiavone, so it meant the world to me that both of them could call the match.” [H/T: Wrestling Purists]
Nigel McGuinness says Bryan Danielson could be stripped of his title if he doesn't face him at AEW Grand Slam
Nigel McGuinness shocked the world recently when he challenged Bryan Danielson to a match at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam. Despite the show being just around the corner, the World Champion has yet to answer the challenge.
As a result, Nigel McGuinness took to social media to post a video stating that Bryan Danielson could be stripped of the AEW World Championship if he did not face him at the Grand Slam.
"We're seven days to go from Gand Slam and the fragile countdown counting down still, the American coward yet to give any indication of he'll face me at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Well, I did hear a rumor Bryan that if you don't show up, you might be stripped of the title. So, if that's the case, let me ask you, is not losing to me or me proving I should have all your success really more important than the AEW World Title?"
It will be interesting to see if Bryan Danielson will answer Nigel McGuinness' challenge next week.
