Bryan Danielson's new possible role in AEW after retirement speculated by legendary journalist (Exclusive)

Bryan Danielson officially retired from full-time in-ring competition at AEW WrestleDream. Legendary journalist Bill Apter has shared his thoughts on The American Dragon's match and his potential future in the promotion.

Jon Moxley defeated Bryan Danielson to win his fourth AEW World Title at WrestleDream. After the match, The Blackpool Combat Club continued their assault on Bryan. Wheeler Yuta and Darby Allin came to the assist of The American Dragon. However, Yuta shockingly turned heel on Darby and put a plastic bag over Bryan Danielson's head to rejoin Jon Moxley's Blackpool Combat Club.

In the recent episode of Sportskeeda's exclusive The Wrestling Time Machine podcast hosted by Mac Davis, Senior Editor Bill Apter shared his displeasure with the plastic bag spot after Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson's match at WrestleDream. However, he gave the match 9 and a half points as he was impressed by the championship bout.

"What I didn't like about [Jon] Moxley and Bryan Danielson, after a great match, you put the plastic bag over his head again. That killed the end for me. But I'll tell you something, out of a 10 being the best, the plastic bag killed it. So, I give it a 9 and a half. It was an excellent pay-per-view, and I was very very impressed."

Bill Apter also spoke about Bryan's plans after his retirement and said that The American Dragon might take up a backstage role and advise the talent in All Elite Wrestling.

"Bryan [Danielson] now allegedly will not wrestle, at least in the near future again, but I think he'll be helping out backstage and advising the guys because he's just great and he loves the business and you know he's gotta be there backstage. I want to compliment them for one of the best PPVs I've seen." [3:48 - 4:48]

Darby Allin was supposed to win the AEW World Title from Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream

Darby Allin got the opportunity to challenge for the world title at WrestleDream a couple of months ago on Royal Rampage. Jon Moxley, however, manipulated The Daredevil into putting his opportunity on the line against him at AEW Dynamite: Grandslam where The Death Rider defeated Darby Allin.

According to a recent report by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Darby Allin was locked in to take the world title from Bryan Danielson at AEW WrestleDream but the promotion ultimately decided to go with Moxley due to the latter's new heel persona. AEW wants to bring as much heat as possible on Moxley during his title reign.

Fans will have to wait and see if Darby Allin dethrones Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship in the coming months.
