Buddy Matthews confirms if House of Black will ever split up in AEW
The House of Black is one of the top factions in AEW. The group's member Buddy Matthews has confirmed whether a split will ever happen.
Malakai Black formed The House of Black with Brody King in 2021. Buddy Matthews and Julia Hart joined the faction down the road and the rest is history. Despite fans pointing out some of their controversial booking decisions, The House of Black has managed to stay relevant and be in one of the top factions in All Elite Wrestling.
Speaking in an interview with Wrestle Radio Australia, Buddy Mattews revealed that a split of The House of Black is not on the card. He noted how the faction beat The Elite and took the AEW World Trios Titles off them. Matthews also called The House of Black the greatest trio.
“Leaving and disbanding? Like, we might go on excursions—left, right, and center—maybe some singles or tags. But disbanding and breaking up? To me, it’s not on the cards. We beat The Elite. We beat the elite of The Elite. We beat Kenny and The Bucks. The trio titles were made for that group, and we took the titles off them. So, yeah, we are probably the greatest trio.” [H/T: RingsideNews]
AEW star Buddy Matthews explains how The House of Black stays on the same page
In the same interview, Buddy Matthews explained how the wrestling styles of Brody King, himself, and Malakai Black work in The House of Black. He called Malakai the architect, and Brody the powerhouse. Buddy added that they complement each other which helps the trio remain on the same page.
"Malakai does his thing. He’s the architect of it all—he puts it together, creates the game plan, and gets in people’s heads. We have Brody, who is a powerhouse, and then there’s me, right? We complement each other in so many different ways, and there isn’t a trio that works as well as us." [H/T:RingsideNews]
It will be interesting to see what plans AEW has for The House of Black heading into 2025.
