Buddy Matthews has a message for fans after getting injured mid-match on AEW Collision

AEW star Buddy Matthews recently sent a message to the fans after last night's Collision. The former WWE star suffered a brutal injury at last night's show.

This week's AEW Collision main event featured a Unified World Trios Title Eliminator Match between The House of Black (Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews, & Brody King) and The Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson, Austin, & Colten Gunn). Buddy Matthews suffered an unfortunate knee injury mid-match, which forced him to tag out and receive immediate medical attention. Malakai Black took over the match and defeated The Bang Bang Gang in the main event.

In a recent tweet on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Buddy Matthews seemingly reacted to the positive feedback from the fans after his brutal injury.

Rhea Ripley recalls physical fight with AEW star Buddy Matthews

Speaking on the Impaulsive Podcast earlier this year, the former Women's World Champion opened up about wrestling with her real-life partner, Buddy Matthews. The Eradicator spoke about a time when Matthews put her in a triangle submission move but had to let her go due to Ripley's incredible strength.

"He put me in some sort of submission... I think it was a triangle... He put me in it and was like, ‘just tap.’ No! 'just tap', No! He slowly got tighter. And like his manhood was on the line. So he slowly got tighter. I was like, No! It got to the point where he got so tired, he had to sort of let go a little, and that’s where I overpowered him and I got out of it and pinned him to the ground," she revealed.

Rhea Ripley is currently out of action due to an injury that forced her to relinquish her Women's World Title in April 2024. It will be interesting to see if The Nightmare regains her championship after she returns.
