Buddy Matthews reveals real reason he has formed connection with popular AEW wrestler

Buddy Matthews has revealed the reason he has formed a connection with a popular AEW star. This will warm the hearts of wrestling fans around the world.

The former WWE star is in a stable known as the House of Black, which is led by Malakai Black. The latter is among the most underrated wrestlers on the roster, and his work often goes unnoticed, thanks to how easily he goes about his game.

Buddy Matthews was speaking on the Downunder The Ring podcast when he discussed the similarities he shares with Malakai Black and how that has led to their bonding over the years.

“When you break it all down... we are just very unique individuals, the way off-screen and on screen, the way that we interact with each other and our values of professional wrestling behind the scenes line up very well. So, we are very detail-oriented performers. We like that storytelling aspect. So the fact that we are able to communicate that and collaborate with that, I feel like that creates the dynamic that is then seen in the House of Black, he said.” [35:35 - 36:19]

Buddy Matthews also shared how his matches with Malakai Black turned them from rivals to friends

In the same interview, Buddy Matthews spoke about his history with Malakai Black and how he once had a losing streak against him.

That losing streak once caused him a mental breakdown, but things eventually improved, and they went on to become best friends.

He said:

"He beat me three times in a row, which then obviously caused my mental breakdown, which then made me sit ringside at RAW for about an hour and a half while everything was going on. Then I joined Seth, which then I became his disciple. And then, we went our separate ways for a while and here we are. Bitter enemies become besties, I guess.” [34:42 - 35:31]

It is great to see how the dynamic has changed and how they are now part of a powerful stable in AEW.
