Buddy Matthews sends a heartfelt message for CM Punk amid his WWE absence
Buddy Matthews recently sent out birthday greetings for WWE Superstar CM Punk earlier today. The 36-year-old star also posted what he called one of his favorite pictures ever with the Second City Saint.
Both men only got to share the ring once during the time they were both in AEW and this was in a trios match back in August last year. The House of Black, who were the AEW World Trios Champions at the time, were challenged by CMFTR. If not for Samoa Joe taking out Punk during the match, they may have become the champions.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Buddy Matthews posted a short but sweet birthday greeting for CM Punk. He included a photo of The Straight Edge Superstar alongside Malakai Black and Brody King, as he claimed it was one of his favorite photos ever. The 36-year-old star also tagged his stablemates in the story.
"Happy Birthday @cmpunk (One of my favorite photos ever!)" Buddy Matthews shared.

Buddy Matthews has challenged another major AEW star to a match on Dynamite
A few days ago following the House of Black's match on AEW Dynamite, Buddy Matthews took the microphone and laid out a challenge to Adam Cole for a match on Dynamite next week.
Cole confronted him later in the night as this was abrupt, and he wondered whether he had a problem with him. Matthews broke his silence later on social media saying that he wanted to fight Adam as he wanted the latter to prove to him that he was not "fragile" as many people thought.
Buddy claimed that the former WWE NXT Champion was a shell of his former self and that he had little to no hope that he would prove him wrong.
Fans should stay tuned to next week's episode of Dynamite where great matches like the aforementioned one are lined up for the show, and more surprises could be in store for them.
