Bullet Club member goes on an explicit rant against Kenny Omega amid imminent AEW return
Kenny Omega is set to make his return to the ring soon against a Bullet Club member. This young star has now cut an explosive promo on The Cleaner. He is a member of the iconic faction's War Dogs subgroup.
The rivalry between Gabe Kidd and Kenny Omega has escalated in recent months. It all started when Omega made a shocking return at NJPW Power Struggle and expressed his interest in competing at the upcoming Wrestle Dynasty PPV. Later on in the show, Gabe Kidd attacked The Cleaner from behind.
In the weeks that followed, the former AEW World Champion addressed this attack and challenged the Bullet Club member to a match at Wrestle Dynasty. The match has since been made official and will mark the return of Omega to the ring in over a year.
Kidd competed at NJPW Strong Style Evolved this past Sunday. Following the match, he cut a backstage promo on Omega. The reigning Strong Openweight Champion called The Cleaner a "traitor" for selling out for more money. Kidd also said that Kenny made his bed and now he must lie in it.
"Do I ever not speak from the heart? Do I ever talk, and you think, ‘Oh, Gabe’s half-a**ing it today; his heart ain’t in it!’ Nah, ‘cause my heart’s always in it, forever, and you left, like a traitor, like a b**ch. You ran off for the money and realized that it can’t fulfill what’s inside," he said.
The NJPW star continued:
"You don’t get that s**t in Toledo, Ohio. You don’t get that shot in Phoenix, Arizona. The heart and soul of pro wrestling is in Korakuen Hall, and you know it. You made your bed, Kenneth. Now f***ing lie in it. Better yet, you dug your grave, Kenneth. I’m happy to put you in it." [H/T: Fightful]
Gabe Kidd previously sent a warning to Kenny Omega
Kenny Omega has been recovering from diverticulitis for the past year. He even underwent surgery and is on the mend. As a result, he has stayed away from the ring and has only made one televised appearance for AEW. On the other hand, Kidd has been competing in the ring against some of the toughest Japanese wrestlers in NJPW and looks battle-tested.
During a recent interview with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, Gabe Kidd touched on the fact that he has been actively competing in the ring while Omega has been recovering from his surgery. The 27-year-old even stated that no matter what The Cleaner does, he won't be ready for their match.
"I saw some clips. He can say what he wants. I’ve been wrestling this whole year. Active. Actively war-ready going into fights. He can do whatever he wants to prepare for this. He can go to the gym; he can hang out with his little friend, Ibushi. He can do whatever he wants. It’s not going to compare to anything that I’m going to bring to that fight. Let’s get that clear. It’s not a match; it’s a fight!" he said.
It will be interesting to see if Kenny Omega manages to win his first match upon his return to the squared circle.
