Bully Ray firmly believes top star hasn't wrestled his last match in AEW

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray had a lot to say about AEW WrestleDream 2024, but his most pressing concerns lay with Bryan Danielson, who has seemingly wrapped up his full-time wrestling career. Bully recently discussed The American Dragon's future prospects.

After winning the AEW World Championship at All In 2024, Bryan Danielson revealed that when he lost the title, his full-time in-ring career would come to an end. That happened at WrestleDream this past weekend, where Jon Moxley made good on his promise to put Danielson down.

The American Dragon was stretchered out of the Tacoma Dome, and AEW reportedly has no concrete plans for him to return anytime soon. While Danielson will likely need neck surgery, there's a chance he would stay on with All Elite Wrestling in a part-time capacity.

Bully Ray discussed Danielson's status on a recent episode of Busted Open Radio. The WWE legend doesn't think the former AEW World Champion is fully retired, but he couldn't say for sure whether fans will see him in an AEW or WWE ring:

"That is not the last time you're going to see Bryan Danielson in the middle of a ring," Bully Ray said. "He's gonna go away. He'll get his surgery, he'll get whatever he needs to have done, [and] he'll slip into some kind of retirement. But you will have a final farewell with ... Bryan Danielson in the ring. Now, which ring? I don't know." [H/T Wrestling Inc]

Bully Ray was intrigued by Wheeler Yuta's role in Bryan Danielson's loss

When Jon Moxley and the Blackpool Combat Club betrayed Bryan Danielson at All Out 2024, Wheeler Yuta was prevented from trying to help his mentor. In the following weeks, Yuta sided with Danielson as the BCC revealed their brutal new game plan.

However, the faction got to the young star in the end, and at WrestleDream, Wheeler Yuta was forced to put a plastic bag over Danielson's head. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray compared the angle to the real-life ritual of being "jumped in" by a gang:

"What bigger final nail in the coffin for Bryan Danielson than to have the babyface friend who came down to make the save, an original member of The BCC, who then tried to help Danielson, but now he's forced to do the most despicable of things, which is to choke Danielson out? It's almost like in a gang being jumped in, or having to reprove yourself, and they made Yuta reprove himself by putting that plastic bag over Danielson's head. So, I liked that little touch," he said.

Bryan Danielson was Wheeler Yuta's mentor, but the BCC has its claws in the young star, and it seems there's no way out for him. Bully Ray seems to think this angle could shine a spotlight on Yuta, but whether he's able to shake off Jon Moxley's influence remains to be seen.
