Bully Ray reacts to 3-time WWE champion allegedly being the 5th member of Jon Moxley's faction
Veteran wrestler Bully Ray recently reflected on the possibility of a former WWE personality joining Jon Moxley in the latter's new faction. Bully accessed the theory after last night's Dynamite.
The three-time WWE champion in question is none other than Shane McMahon. The Prodigal Son is a one-time Hardcore Champion, a one-time European Champion, and a one-time SmackDown Tag Team Champion. In the latest episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite, Jon Moxley and his new faction members, Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, and Marina Shafir, attacked Komander and Private Party.
Meanwhile, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray assessed PAC's promo, in which the latter said, "This company is broken." The veteran also addressed the speculations of Shane McMahon joining the faction while speaking on Busted Open After Dark:
"'AEW is broken,' what did PAC mean? I know it's a part of the storyline, but is it art initiating real life? Are we taking some of the perceptions out there about AEW and bringing them into the ring? And if AEW is broken, how are Moxley, PAC, Claudio, and Marina Shafir going to fix it? Are they the only four? Are there more? The chatter about a month ago was that this group was somehow gonna be associated with and affiliated with Shane McMahon," he said.
The 53-year-old further explained the possible reason behind the rumors of The Prodigal Son aligning with Moxley's new faction. Notably, Shane and AEW CEO Tony Khan had a private meeting a few months ago. Later, a picture from their meeting went viral on social media. Ray claimed that the leaked picture was the reason behind the rumors.
"Do you still feel that way? I have no idea. The only reason why Shane McMahon's name has been brought up is because of that picture—that picture we saw two months ago or so of Shane and TK in that office of that private airport in Dallas, Texas," he added. [1:16-2:36]
Jon Moxley is set for a major match at Grand Slam 2024
Last night on Dynamite, Jon Moxley confronted Darby Allin and asked the latter to hand over his AEW World Title shot. Notably, Allin earned a shot at the company's top prize after winning the Royal Rampage on the July 24, 2024, episode of Rampage.
After Darby refused, The Purveyor of Violence challenged the former TNT Champion to put the World Title shot on the line during their singles match at Grand Slam 2024. The match was later made official and will take place on the September 25, 2024, episode of Dynamite.
It will be interesting to see if Jon Moxley snatches the AEW World Title Number One Contender's spot from Darby Allin at Grand Slam 2024.
