Bully Ray reacts after AEW President Tony Khan makes a shocking claim
Tony Khan recently made a shocking claim about AEW. Bully Ray has now reacted to it.
When AEW first launched, it sent shockwaves through the industry and even gave WWE a run for its money by beating NXT in the ratings war. The company was known for its long-form storytelling that would often captivate audiences. It was different from WWE's style of wrestling that fans had become used to.
However, over the years, AEW has failed to pick up momentum and has lost a lot of its viewerships and ratings. The company even had its lowest numbers in history recently. The Jacksonville-based promotion was struggling to sell enough tickets to fill arenas, garnering heavy criticism from all quarters.
During a recent interview with Q101, Khan claimed that a lot of people didn't want his company to succeed and were trying to stop its growth. Bully Ray has since reacted to these comments taking to his X (fka Twitter) account, saying that everyone connected with the pro wrestling industry wanted AEW to thrive and be successful. However, he did note that for that to happen the promotion needed to improve on all quarters.
"I would venture to say, that the overwhelming majority of anyone who earns a living within the Pro Wrestling Business WANT to see AEW succeed and ARE NOT trying to “stop it.” Most, like myself, would like to see it improve, on all levels, and thrive," he wrote.

Vince Russo feels Tony Khan must sell AEW to Vince and Shane McMahon
The news of Tony Khan's recent secret meeting with Shane McMahon has had the whole wrestling world buzzing. Since the photograph from the secret meeting went viral online, several critics have given their thoughts on the matter.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws podcast, Vince Russo believes that Tony must sell AEW to Vince and Shane McMahon since the company was making losses in millions. He noted that if the promotion could not secure a television deal, then selling the company to the McMahons would be the best solution for the Khans.
"Tony Khan sold Shahid Khan the idea of starting a wrestling company and making millions and millions of dollars. We are five years in. This company has clearly lost millions and millions of dollars. So now if all of a sudden, bro, there is not gonna be a television deal, I have lost millions of dollars after the last five years, and I have gotta answer to my old man? Bro, what an out for Tony Khan," he said. [10:44 onwards]
