On the latest edition of SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis promised Carmelo Hayes a special opponent, and he has been talking smack about the surprise opponent. A fan brought up Penta El Zero Miedo's name in the discussion, which led to an interesting reaction by HIM.
On X/Twitter, Carmelo Hayes reacted to a fan speculating about a future matchup between him and Penta El Zero Miedo in WWE.
The former NXT Champion also reposted this post, which surely makes things interesting.
Penta has been heavily rumored to join WWE alongside Rey Fenix. However, due to injury time being added to Fenix's contract, the latter will reportedly remain with All Elite Wrestling until 2025.
Trick Williams says Carmelo Hayes paved the way for him in WWE
After Carmelo Hayes debuted in NXT, he was paired with Trick Williams when the brand became NXT 2.0. The duo proved to be a successful pairing and eventually got the fans behind them. They even chose to cheer Trick more than Hayes.
In a recent chat on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, Trick Williams claimed that Carmelo Hayes laid the platform for him in NXT. Williams noted that Hayes taught him how to be a main event player and build a connection with the audience.
"I say someone who laid a great platform for me; I can't go without saying Carmelo Hayes. I learned a lot by being beside [him] or even back into the right of Carmelo Hayes. When he had the main event matches for the PLEs, for Tuesday Nights, I was able to sit there and learn and build a rapport with the audience, without having the pressure of, 'Hey, I could put on this 15-20 minute banger and go get that title.' I was able to see what the main event scene felt like without having the pressure first," Williams said. [From 08:38 to 09:11]
Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes had a great rivalry on NXT. We will have to wait and see if the former friends once again go toe-to-toe on the main roster.
