Chris Jericho praises the head booker of another company – "He's done a fairly good job"
Former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho has dished out some kind words for the head booker of another major wrestling company.
The booker in question is Billy Corgan, the man currently in charge of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), which has come back into prominence over the past few years while Corgan has been in charge.
During a recent appearance on "The Allison Hagendorf Show," Jericho admitted that he thinks Billy Corgan has done a fairly good job with the NWA, especially given the fact that Corgan has to split his professional life between wrestling and music as the lead singer of The Smashing Pumpkins.
"He owns the NWA, he's done a fairly good job of building that company up. I like talking to Billy because he's probably the only guy, there are a couple of others, but at the highest of levels, that has done this and understands the sacrifice of both."
Jericho continued:
"He does the Pumpkins whenever he wants and I do wrestling whenever I want, but I think the passion project is NWA and the passion project is Fozzy, and to see both of them grow is gratifying. Billy, a very smart guy, very fun to talk to, very much an original, unique. Not a pat on the back, but, good for him. When I heard he bought that company I know it's because he has such a passion for wrestling. If you do, then go for it. Make it happen." [H/T: Fightful]
Chris Jericho will appear this week on AEW Dynamite
It's been an interesting few months for Chris Jericho in AEW. He was willing to join the Don Callis Family but was assaulted by Will Ospreay. He wanted to challenge for the AEW Tag Team Championships with Sammy Guevara, but Sammy turned his back on him too. Then, just as things couldn't get any worse, he was beaten convincingly by Powerhouse Hobbs.
So what's next for the former AEW World Champion? Fans might find out this week on Dynamite as Chris Jericho is set to have a sit-down interview with Renee Paquette.
Jericho has continued to provide commentary on AEW Rampage, but hasn't stepped in the ring since his loss to Hobbs on October 10th. The Don Callis Family still has it out for Chris and wants to put his career to an end, but as we all know, Jericho won't go down without a fight.
