Chris Jericho showcased in wrestling themed horror movie 'Dark Match'

Chris Jericho has just been booked for another horror movie appearance, this time with a theme a little close to home. This would be the wrestling-theme film Dark Match.

The Learning Tree has had a busy year so far. In addition to his appearances in AEW, he has had several other projects outside wrestling. He is also the lead singer of his band Fozzy and has had some acting gigs, including this new movie he is set to star in.

PWInsider has reported that Chris Jericho will star in Dark Match, which is set to hit horror movie platform Shudder by January. Alongside Jericho, Ayisha Issa, Steven Ogg, Sara Canning, Michael Eklund, and Jonathan Cherry are set to appear in the film.

The former AEW World Champion is also listed as an Executive Producer of the project, as revealed at the New York Comic Con last weekend. A synopsis of the film can be found below.

"A small-time wrestling company accepts a well-paying gig in a backwoods town only to learn, too late, that the community is run by a mysterious cult leader with devious plans for their match." [Via Screen Anarcy]

Chris Jericho's recent movie appearance has had great success

Chris Jericho recently appeared briefly in another horror film that hit theaters, Terrifier 3.

The multi-time world champion made a cameo in the third installment of the hit franchise. This film earned way more than its predecessors, and it also shockingly edged out Joker: Folie à Deux in terms of the box office impact.

Chris Jericho also appeared in Terrifier 2 in 2022, so it seems he was simply reprising his cameo role from the previous film.

The veteran seems to be finding success apart from his on-screen appearances in AEW. He'll face Mark Briscoe in a rematch for the ROH World Championship in a Ladder War match tomorrow night. It remains to be seen if he'll get the cherry on top for a successful month for him so far.
