Chris Jericho subtly hints at former WWE Champion's blockbuster AEW return
ROH World Champion Chris Jericho has hinted at the return of former AEW and WWE World Champion Bryan Danielson. The American Dragon retired from full-time competition at WrestleDream Pay-Per-View.
Bryan Danielson has a storied history in the Ring of Honor brand. He is a former ROH World Champion and gained popularity as The American Dragon in the promotion. The former AEW World Champion had some classic matchups against the likes of Samoa Joe, Nigel McGuinness, Kenta, and more. Chris Jericho who currently holds the ROH World Championship wants to see Bryan Danielson return to ROH.
Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Chris Jericho spoke about the direction of Ring of Honor. The Learning Tree suggested that they could bring back some legends like Bryan Danielson to help out the product. Jericho also expressed how he’s putting in the work to get eyes on the ROH brand as their World Champion.
"I'm not a nostalgia guy. Maybe you might want to bring in some guys that used to work there, but a lot of those guys are still in the business. Maybe Bryan Danielson or somebody like that. Whoever is out there that would stop by. To me, it's more about what we're doing now with Ring of Honor. There is a lot going on that is in the works with television and that sort of thing. We're trying to put as much focus on the Ring of Honor brand as we can."
The former AEW World Champion added:
"That's why, as Ring of Honor Champion, I've been on Ring of Honor three weeks, it's the most press and the most focus the Ring of Honor brand has had on Dynamite in months, if not years, probably since the last time I was Ring of Honor Champion. Tony has a plan for what he wants to do with it and I'm happy to be involved. It's been great being on Dynamite promoting this match because this is a Ring of Honor show. To be on Dynamite to put a spotlight on our show and then go back to Collision, that's kind of my role in the company, doing whatever it is Tony wants me to do, to the best of my abilities, and having a great time doing it."
