Christian Cage wishes WWE veteran was dead
Christian Cage again delivered an incendiary promo on AEW Dynamite this week, targeting a WWE veteran. The latter is none other than Taz, who has been absent from All Elite programming since last month.
The Human Suplex Machine was revealed to have been attacked in the parking lot ahead of an episode of Dynamite in October. A few weeks later, Taz's son HOOK confronted Christian Cage and The Patriarchy in the ring after having uncovered the heel stable's involvement in the assault.
Cage had a face-to-face encounter with HOOK on the latest edition of Dynamite. The Patriarch disclosed to The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil his interest in mentoring the latter and claimed he took out Taz to break the former FTW Champion away from the former WWE announcer's influence.
Taking recourse to his signature vitriol, Cage asserted that he needed HOOK by his side and even wished (in storyline) for his father's death. This prompted the up-and-coming star to take out security personnel standing guard outside the ring and attack The Patriarchy, although the group managed to escape from his clutches.
"And right now, I'm regretting my decision to not take things with Taz a little bit further, because as I survey this arena, it's pretty clear to me nobody cares if Taz is alive. I need you HOOK, and in this very moment, I'm gonna tell it to your face, I wish your father was dead," said Cage. [2.23 onwards]
It remains to be seen whether and when HOOK will face off against the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion one-on-one on AEW programming.
