Claudio Castagnoli achieves a mind-blowing career milestone
Claudio Castagnoli is seemingly bigger and badder than ever in AEW. The Swiss Superman has been running roughshod over the company's roster as part of Jon Moxley's Death Riders, but he took the time to send a Christmas greeting and celebrate a major milestone today.
Castagnoli began his career back in 2000 and became a major force in promotions like CZW, ROH, and PWG before signing with WWE in 2011. The former Cesaro next joined AEW in 2022 and immediately aligned with The Blackpool Combat Club. He's remained by Jon Moxley's side ever since, making the transition to The Death Riders along with The Purveyor of Violence.
Today marks exactly 24 years since Claudio Castagnoli made his wrestling debut on Christmas Eve in 2000. He took to his X/Twitter account to mark the occasion and sent out a holiday greeting to his fans
"24th. 24 years. Still same mindset. Merry Christmas," Claudio wrote.
Claudio Castagnoli made Darby Allin spit up blood
In WWE, Cesaro was known as a strongman and tag team specialist. In AEW, he's become an intimidating bruiser, and he proved that yet again in his recent match against Darby Allin.
Claudio Castagnoli is competing in this year's Continental Classic Tournament, where he's currently tied with Ricochet at the top of the Gold League. He faced off with Darby Allin on the most recent episode of Collision and knocked the face-painted star out cold with a pair of brass knuckles. After the match, Darby was seen spitting up blood backstage.
Claudio and the rest of the Death Riders are on a mission to cleanse AEW, but several major stars still stand in their way. With Moxley set for a huge four-way match at Worlds End 2024, it's anybody's guess if the villainous faction makes it into the new year unscathed.
