CM Punk chants interrupt controversial AEW star's taunts on Dynamite

The live crowd from the latest episode of AEW Dynamite chanted for CM Punk and interrupted the taunts of two of the promotion's top stars. The talent in question is Matthew Jackson.

The Young Bucks teamed up with Kazuchika Okada to take on Daniel Garcia, Penta El Zero Miedo and Pac in trios action on the latest edition of Dynamite. At one point during the bout, Matthew Jackson left the ring to criticise the commentary of Tony Schiavone and Excalibur.

The former AEW World Trios Champion grabbed a microphone and mockingly called the action as The Elite punished Garcia. The antics of The Bucks prompted the crowd in the Indiana Farmers Coliseum to chant for CM Punk. The match itself would end in a victory for the heel side courtesy of a Rainmaker from Kazuchika Okada.

The Jackson Brothers share a checkered history with Punk, dating back to The Elite's backstage incident with the latter after the infamous All Out 2022 media scrum. The Best in the World was later terminated from AEW in a shocking move after he was involved in another backstage fracas with Jack Perry during All In 2023.

The Young Bucks aired the footage of the scuffle from Wembley Stadium on last week's episode of Dynamite. The decision to play the tape has received mixed responses at best, despite Tony Khan justifying it as a component of the build to the former Bullet Club members' upcoming ladder match against FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Titles at Dynasty 2024.
