CM Punk reunites with AEW star ahead of WWE SummerSlam 2024

CM Punk met an AEW star with SummerSlam just days away. The star being discussed is Danhausen.

Kid Gorgeous signed with the Jacksonville-based promotion in 2022. An already-established star became popular after posting comic work on social media during the pandemic. Despite being over with the fans and not being sidelined by injury, he hasn't been seen on AEW television for over seven months.

CM Punk had a good run in AEW and departed the company in 2023 after a physical altercation with Jack Perry at All In. He then joined WWE in November 2023 to make his return at Survivor Series: WarGames. He is currently involved in an intense feud with Drew McIntyre and the duo will clash at this year's SummerSlam.

The Very Nice Very Evil star has been good friends with Punk since the duo shared a locker room in AEW. They often take shots at each other on social media and engage in silly banters. Many AEW and WWE stars attended the recent Comic Con held in San Diego. During the event, CM Punk and Danhausen reunited and both shared photos of each other through Instagram stories.

WWE Veteran thinks CM Punk intentionally got fired from AEW

At All In, Jack Perry got into an altercation with the former AEW World Champion over the use of 'real glass'. Days later, the Voice of the Voiceless was fired from the promotion.

While speaking on his Storytime with Dutch Mantell podcast, veteran Dutch Mantell claimed that Punk deliberately got into a fight, so he could get fired from AEW and move to the Stamford-based promotion.

"I have said this before. I think this was all laid out way, way in advance. Punk was going to WWE come hell or high water. And I think he just wanted to be done with AEW. I think he wanted to get fired, I have said that before," he said.

It remains to be seen who picks up the victory at SummerSlam between Punk and Drew McIntyre, with Seth Rollins acting as special guest referee.
