CM Punk says he wouldn’t be shocked to see former WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champion in AEW

CM Punk has revealed that he would not be shocked to see a former WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champion in AEW. If that happens, then it could be one of the biggest shocks of the year.

The star in question is none other than Shane McMahon. Shane has been the name on everybody’s lips after he was pictured with AEW President Tony Khan. There were a lot of rumblings over the past few months that he could end up in the company.

To add to that, the picture that has been doing the rounds has only gotten people to speculate more about Shane’s potential next move. CM Punk has now spoken out about the picture when he was a guest on the SI Media with Jimmy Traina podcast.

When asked about it, he initially said he would pass on commenting on it. However, when he was pressed on whether he would be shocked to see Shane in AEW, he replied:

"No. I don't think so." [H/T - Fightful]

CM Punk poses with AEW stars Darby Allin and Brody King

CM Punk might have left AEW in not quite a pleasant circumstance, with events under a cloud of mystery because of what had happened. Despite the fact that he was unceremoniously fired, he seemingly still has good relationships with some of the stars who still work there.

The Second City Saint often posts photo dumps on his Instagram page and he did that once again recently. He posted images with Jesse Ventura, Ivar, Indi Hartwell but the one that caught the attention of fans was his picture with Darby Allin and Brody King.

Darby Allin was his first opponent in AEW. They fought at All Out in 2021, with Punk coming out on top. They later also teamed up on a few occasions. It is great to see him still have good relationships with the stars, once again proving that friendship transcends company rivalries.
